Italy is one of my favorite destinations, with incredible food, stunning views, and amazing museums and shopping. I’ve loved exploring Capri, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Pompeii, and Florence. My first trip was a guided tour of Western Italy and Venice, where the food and wine stole the show. I revisited Italy recently, enjoying a cooking class in Milan and a wonderful couple of days on Lake Como. Come for the museums, stay for the food.
June through October
I recently went in March to Como and Milan, which was on the colder side but I didn't have to wear a coat. It was relaxing with few tourists. Some restaurants were closed because there weren't any tourists. Still, there was plenty to do.
In July, it can get over 100 F, so dress in light weight clothing and stay in the northern countries.
I'd stay at least 1 week with any combo of these cities
3 days in Capri
1 day trip in Lake Como
1 day trip in Cinque Terre
2 days in Florence
1 day trip in Naples/Pompeii
2 days in Rome
1 day in Venice
Hiking the Dolomites or Matterhorn amongst the wildflowers would be absolutely amazing. Stay tune for updates on this when I plan my trip!
